2014 Roussanne – Included in Mixed Allotments

Our fifth vintage of a single varietal Roussanne has the beautiful high tone that white Rhône varieties often achieve in Washington State. The extremely warm 2014 vintage provided ample aromatics, starting with inviting notes of lime, floral pear and hints of passion fruit and peach, before deepening into the more classic honey and apricot scents as it breaths with air. Very Juicy, very pure and very concentrated with lovely intensity, the alluring flavors are delicate yet rich, with a clean line of minerality and spice to focus the wine all the way through the vibrant yet polished finish. Drink now with fresh white fish or herb crusted chicken.

Mr. Big lives up to its name with its huge flavors and bold structure. Almost black in color, the complex aromas of dark cherry, toffee, blackberry jam, caramel, smoke, and earth jump from the glass. Big and rich, this savory Petite Sirah delivers distinct flavors of blueberry, cocoa, and brown sugar, punctuated with a sturdy frame of cedar and spicy French oak. Firm in texture this big bodied wine is a perfect balance of acid and fruit, all backed by chewy fine grain tannins, and an extremely long finish. Drinking well now, this wine is showing all the signs of being cellar worthy for many years to come. Best after 2015 so please decant if you cannot resist.

2012 “Members Only”  Red Blend

This appealing, southern Rhône blend is Châteauneuf-du-Pape in style, with lush, bright red fruits and pleasing traces of the estate vineyard’s characteristic dusty tannins. Dark, ripe, and spicy with a stunning violet rim, this wine produces an enticing bouquet of black cherry, Marion berry, mocha, and hints of rose petal and cedar. Mourvèdre contributes elegance, structure, and lively acidity to the blend producing flavors of raspberry, cashew, wild vine strawberry, and hints of tobacco. Grenache adds a beautiful peppery note and black currants. Syrah rounds out the blend with its dark fruit flavors, helps the frame this wine with steady tannins, and color to this supple sipper. Try pairing this wine with a pork roast, lamb shanks, caramelized shallots, or a juicy tenderloin.

2012 “Sgt. Pepper” Carmenere

Our second bottling of Carménère is dark violet in color with captivating aromas of boysenberries, cherry cola, warm spice, pepper, and then, more pepper. Full-bodied and fruit-forward the pallet is loaded with notes of blackberry jam, ripe black cherry, plum, and a hint or two of tobacco. Nicely concentrated, the smooth tannins and exceptional structure balance perfectly with the bright flavors of vanilla, crushed herbs and toasted cedar that flourish throughout the powerful finish. Excellent alone but pairs nicely with spicy dishes or also a great match for tri tip, lamb, blackened fish, roasted meats or even spicy pork tacos.

2012 “Mr. Popular” Malbec

Dark and dense in color, this estate grown Malbec opens with lovely aromas of raspberry, black cherry, eucalyptus, dried herbs and a hint of rose and sandalwood.  It is bright, tangy, and balanced throughout, with a firm and chewy mouthfeel wrapped in flavors of blackberry, plum and cedar weaving through the polished tannin. The bright and lively acidity puts an expressive frame around the complex mix of fruit and spice. It finishes long and yet tight, so give it some breathing time in a decanter or cellar until 2016.
