Two Chocolate Covered Turtles

Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas! On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me… two turtle doves.

On our second day of 12 days of Christmas Recipes, we will be eating at least two chocolate covered turtles. After tasting these, I don’t think anyone would eat just two but be sure to share with your true love! We will be pairing these yummy turtle (doves) with our Gravity Merlot.

Chocolate Turtles

Ingredients:
12 (Dozen) Caramel Squares
8oz Chocolate
6oz Pecans Halves
Heavy Pinch Sea Salt

Directions:
Place two pecan halves on top each other, top with caramel square. Bake in 300˚F oven for a few minutes (until caramel melts down around the pecans). As soon as you remove melted caramels from oven, sprinkle with a few grains of sea salt and allow to cool.

Place chocolate in a microwave proof bowl and microwave chocolate on high for 1 minute, stir until smooth (microwave additional 10-20 seconds, stirring until smooth).

Drop tablespoon size dollops of chocolate onto parchment paper, quickly topping each with caramel-pecans. Stripe each cluster with remaining chocolate. Allow to cool to room temperature. I like to serve them cut in half.
