Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas! On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me:   12, Drummers Drummin’ Drumsticks, 11 Pipers Piping Chocolate Mousse,  10 Leaping Frog Legs, 9 Dancing Lady Fingers Tiramisu, 8 Mayan Hot Chocolates, 7 Swimming Rama, 6 Pumpkin Crème Brûlées, 5 Golden Onion Rings, 4 Colly Bird Pie, 3 Citrus Roasted Game Hens, 2 Chocolate Covered Turtles, and a Pear Soaked in Syrah.

On our final day of our 12 Days of Christmas, we will be pairing our Drummers Drummin’ Drumsticks with Block 17 Syrah.  Happy holidays to you all!

Drummers Drummin’ Drumsticks

1 Cup Soy Sauce
½ Cup Balsamic Vinegar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
4 Cloves Garlic (Chopped)
2 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes
Can of Pan Spray
2 dozen Chicken Drumsticks, Frenched
1 Jar Chukar Cherry BBQ Chipotle Sauce
Oven set to 325˚F

For the marinade: combine Soy, Balsamic, brown sugar, garlic, Worcestershire and chili flakes in metal bowl. Marinate the chicken 2-3 hours in the marinade; I do this by placing them in a Ziploc bag together, in bottom of the fridge.

To cook the drumsticks after they have marinated, place on a sheet pan that has been sprayed with pan spray (so chicken doesn’t stick), place in center of oven and cook 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven, place in metal bowl with half of the Cherry BBQ sauce and careful toss together. Place back on sheet pan and cook an additional 10 minutes or until chicken has reached 165˚F and the sauce starts to caramelize. Coat with additional sauce before serving.
